Stair and Railing Systems

Many older properties with stairs and handrails may very well be non-code compliant but still structurally sound and functional. Regardless of a property being cited for violations from a municipality, the safety liability and risk of injury to residents can quickly become very costly and overwhelming.

These issues have been around for a while and we hear all the time, “Our stairs are fine and not broken so why is there a problem now”? Dating back to 1970 some of the first standards were issued via the BOCA Basic Building Code. Those standards have changed many times over and with each change came another level of complexity.

Before you are blindsided by a lawsuit, insurance inspection, or municipal compliance officer, let us meet with your property manager and provide an assessment for your property.
